Working Toward Your Own Sense of Calm
I have worked for years with individuals who are struggling with post-traumatic stress, generalized stress, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. Traumatic events affect every person differently, so I tailor my therapeutic approach to the person, not the event. Sometimes I’ll involve other people who are part of my client’s support system when the client is ready.
I love to work together with patients to help them to see the strength they truly have within themselves and realize that they are not defined by their past traumatic event, whether it be from military events, sexual abuse, or another form of trauma. There is a beauty in seeing people break themselves from the shackles of their trauma.
I encourage my patients to be their authentic selves, and I work their therapy around them, to support them in a way that is as unique as they are. I strive to be open and warm, and I love to throw humor into the therapeutic process when appropriate to allow a breakdown of barriers as we push through to find the patient’s inner power.
